About Us - Twilight Harvest History & Goals
Twilight Harvest strives to be what one would think of as a "casual, laid-back raid guild". Think about the reasons you started playing World of Warcraft to begin with... for many, it was long awaited after playing the much celebrated RTS "Warcraft III". Maybe from years of roleplaying games like Final Fantasy you wanted to try something a little different. Maybe a real life friend got you into it. Maybe the commercials just looked cool. But no matter what, the bottom line is the same... you play the game to have fun!
As many of you raiders know, plenty of players out there have lost that mentality. Many guilds claim to be "one of the server's best", while playing completely unfair. They play by their own rules, but constantly break them. You take time to "apply" to a raid guild, get invited to join, and wait weeks before you even see a calendar invite to a raid. Then after much trash clearing, you're booted right before the boss fight so that a much treasured guildie (usually just a real life friend of someone high-up) logs on and wants in at the last minute. Or maybe you join in on a "mostly guild run" from trade channel that just needs that last dps, heals or tank. They of course tell you loot will be fair and you will be able to roll on any upgrade to your spec, only to find when the boss is down it is automatically distributed to whomever they had secretly decided on ahead of time. Have you ever missed a few raids due a real life emergency and were apparently never qualified to be invited to a raid with that guild again? Failed strategies with no care to try alternatives, loot or player drama... whatever the case, you must wait a week to even have a chance to do that dungeon again. Where's the fun in that?
I have experienced every "fail raid" case in the book, and always thought in the back of my mind, "there must be a guild out there that does things right." I envisioned a solid group of pleasant, friendly players that simply enjoy raiding and most importantly, have fun with it! After a good while of never finding one, I decided to just make it happen. The only thing holding me back was thinking up a unique guild name. Finally, armed with motivation (and a thesaurus), I created Twilight Harvest.
We are steady so far on the path I intended this guild to follow. Our core has friendly, sociable, mature people that love playing warcraft every day, but have lives outside of it as well. Our main goal is to keep a fun, friendly atmosphere while successfully clearing through content. Any kind of drama such as fighting in guild chat or vent will cause your immediate removal. We are always happy to see our family grow, so if Twilight Harvest seems like the guild for you, just leave a post on our forums or whisper Guild Leader Kinalarik in-game.
