Guild/Raid Rules Raid rules aside, we ask that all members of the guild behave with maturity and respect, no matter if you're just chatting in guild chat, trade channel, or especially any kind of group with non-guild members. Help us keep our name clean and reputation friendly. Pre-raid Most raids (with the exception of Vault) are scheduled in advance through the in-game calendar. Please do not accept a raid that you may not be able to attend. You may send a mail message to GL Kinalarik stating that if find you can be on that day, that you would like to come to the raid. If you accept a raid then cannot attend at the last minute, no worries. You will still be invited to future raids. It is appreciated if you can send a message to Kinalarik ahead of time, especially if you are a tank/healer and it may take some time to find a replacement. We understand that emergencies happen, and you will never be "punished" in the slightest for missing a raid. However, if you are late to a raid and the group is full by the time you get on, there is nothing we can do about it unless we lose someone along the way. If attending a raid, please be online and out of group at the time stated on the calendar. Be prepared with buff food, ammo, off-spec or resist gear if neccessary, soul shards, reagents, pots/elixirs or anything else you may be using that night. Get on vent. Guild members always have vent info in the "guild information" tab from the guild-social box. Vent info will also be posted by the raid leader in raid chat for non-members. Always repair before the raid. We will summon you to the meeting stone when we are ready to begin, no need to wait at the instance entrance. However we do ask that once invites go out, you stay in group. This is for your benefit, so that you are not forgotten about and raid fills up without you. Raid time Please wait to buff until everyone is inside the instance. We would of course like buffs to be done quickly and thoroughly, but sometimes the issue of pally buffs gets in the way. We'd like all our paladins to download the add-on Pally Power to make buffing as quick and easy as possible. Also, it's usually standard for warriors to hold off on Battle Shout, unless otherwise stated OK to use. Please note that we try to keep AFK's to a bare minimum. If a boss is down and you won't be rolling on any of the loot, its a good time to do what you have to do. In addition, in Naxx we take a 5-10 minute break after each wing is clear to try and get all those drinks and bios out of the way. Anyone AFK for more than 10 minutes during the raid in a non-designated break time will be removed from the raid and replaced. We have had also had issues in the past with players technical abilities to raid, whether it be computer or internet issues. Constant disconnects will be cause for removal after a time. It is not fair to the players that were there for all the trash clearing and entire boss fight to be rolling on loot against someone who was DC'd practically the entire time. Lag could also be a potential cause for removal from the raid. It's common sense that if your internet connection is not suited to handle an MMORPG, you shouldn't be attempting to raid. If you DC during every AOE on a 25man run, or your lag is so bad that you cannot move fast enough when you need to, you will be removed from the raid and also not invited to raids until you've talked to the GL or an officer about your problem having been fixed. This is for consideration to your fellow raiders, where in fights like Thaddius a single person lagging out and not being able to move fast enough can wipe the entire raid. Combat We know that our experienced players for the most part do not need walked through every minute of a raid. Certain spells will however be designated for the Raid Leader to call out exactly who and exactly when they are to be used. These include Battle Res, Heroism, and Army of Dead to name a few. There may also be times when some spells are called out to not be used during certain fights, like a Death Knights Death and Decay during Grand Widow Faerlina or a mages Ice Block during Sapphiron. If Heroism is called, the Raid Leader will call exactly who to cast it, so please wait to hear your characters name. In the case of Battle Res, the Raid Leader will call the name of the caster as well as who the res is to be cast on. Do not ever use these spells without being told to do so. If the Raid Leader calls the fight a wipe, do exactly that. Please don't prolonge the battle in any way. Stop healing, stand and die. DO NOT RUN FROM THE BOSS. If you run from the boss when told to wipe it up, you could potentially drag the boss to a player that was feigned or shadowmelded that could have survived to resurrect. If you have the ability to leave combat through shadowmeld/vanish/invisibility/divine intervention/feign death, you may do so. If combat results in a wipe, DO NOT RELEASE unless the Raid Leader says to in Vent. There is almost always someone that was able to leave combat and resurrect. There are of course many bosses that you must release on, such as Gluth or Sapphiron, but otherwise wait to hear if you should or not. This will make buffing and the re-attempt happen much faster. When the boss is down, DO NOT LOOT until everyone is alive. It's a good rule of thumb to just not loot until you see the Raid Leader recieve their emblems. If there are non-guild members in the raid, loot rules will be established from the very beginning. They are also posted here on the website. At the end of a battle, whether it was successful or a wipe, DO NOT POST DAMAGE METERS, healing meters, or anything of the like. The Raid Leader will post meters at certain times at their discretion. The main reasoning here is to avoid the obvious annoying spam of 3 people posting a 10man count damage meter at once, especially while players are trying to roll on loot at the same time. There is also the issue of whether or not DPS mattered to the fight at all. Many boss encounters are not intended to be a DPS race. Some require alot of moving around, times where certain players are immobilized and unable to attack, or times when ranged can continue attacking during some kind of air phase where melee can not, just to name a few. On any fight that requires more concentration than damage, a player that would regularly be doing higher DPS may be distracted by their sudden drop in rank, and unknowingly stop paying attention to the fight and concentrating more on dealing damage. In any case, there is nothing wrong with having a damage meter add-on downloaded for yourself, so that you will always know where you're at regardless of it being posted in raid chat. |
